Alpen Cereal Original 14-Ounce Boxes

It’s no mystery that men score low on the healthful feed scale, as what a heap of consider traditionalisti “man food,” commonly holds heart clogging fats, cholesterol, sodium, sugar.

While chili dogs, salted chips accompanied by high calorie dips, huge amounts of red meat, fried food, and breakfasts loaded with completely filled fats might satisfy the ego of a “real man,” studies show that a regular diet of these foods often times results in irreversible injure to the body.

Researchers studying men’s dietary health report that fats are one of the most necessary feed groups in a healthful diet. The trick is to keep out of the way of or seldom eat artery-hardening foods like sausage, hot dogs, butter, high fat dips, high sodium chips and snacks. Try to keep away from those mega breakfasts that are high in calories, completely filled fats, fat, sugar and sodium. Opt rather for foods high in “good fats” such as cold-water fish, lean cuts of meat, chicken and turkey. Scramble eggs in a skillet sprayed with butter flavored non-stick spray, add a good deal of fruit and a piece of whole-wheat toast with sugar free jam for a satisfying, healthful breakfast.

Eating red meat is almost a constitutional right in America, and for a great deal of men it conjures up pictures of tough warriors and rough riding cowboys. The firstborn casualty of eating too much red meat, full strength ice cream, doughnuts and highly processed snacks is cardiovascular health, and one of the earliest signs of heart sickness is impotence.

Several studies indicate that a diet high in completely filled fat may primarily increase the risk of prostate cancer. The four to six ounce steak at the dinner table principally is different from the “mega ton” 24 ounce steaks served in a heap of restaurants. Recent studies show a correlation amidst eating tomatoes and tomato productions to helping prevent prostate cancer, by freeing lycopene for the duration of cooking. Adding whole grain breads and cereals to men’s diets may reduce the peril of heart disease, diabetes, improve intestinal health and perhaps reduce the danger of colon cancer.

Change is hard specially for men whose idea of masculinity is more swashbuckling than belt buckling, but a few substitutions may keep masculine bodies humming like a well-oiled machine.

Here are a few easy painless tips:

* Replace white bread and pasta with whole wheat and whole grain products.

* Eating brown rice rather of traditionalisti white rice increments fiber intake.

* Trade in the sugary snacks for dried fruits such as raisins, and apricots.

* Double the tomato sauce and halve the high fat cheese when ordering pizza, and skip or order very little sausage or pepperoni, and add extra tomato sauce to spaghetti dishes.

* Use low calorie dressings on salads and for dips.

* Replace hot dogs, bacon, cheese and red meat with skinless chicken and turkey.

* Substitute the a lot of delicious flavors of frozen yogurt for full fall ice cream.

* At the ballpark, skip the high fat, high sodium chili topper on your hot dog and opt rather for the high fiber vegetable, sauerkraut.

* Keep bananas, grapes and little boxes of raisins nearby for eating on the run.

* Choose baked tortilla chips, air popped popcorn or light butter microwave popcorn.

There is no need to sacrifice the fun of a tailgate picnic or looking at sports events like NASCAR and the Super Bowl. Fill that six-foot long sandwich with low fat, low sodium chicken or turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, grated carrots, onions, low fat cheddar cheese, and any other vegetables you like. Sprinkle a little olive oil, Italian seasoning and chives, or chili powder on top for an extra kick. Thinly disseminate light mayonnaise, just for taste, on both sides of the filling. Combine plain yogurt with your bestloved spices for a tasty healthful substitute to high priced, high calorie store purchased dips.

Limit beer and alcohol intake to two drinks. Flavored water is a healthy, freshening substitute to sugary, alcoholic drinks, that won’t leave you sentiment bloated or worse.

Re-thinking and re-defining the term “macho-man,” might just mean the divergence amidst living a long, healthy, procreative life, filled with the humans and things you love, or a life filled with doctors, hospital visits and a plethora of prescription drugs.

3The Alpen I loved has changed…
By Ann Altoonian
Alpen in the red box was my sheer bestloved cereal. However, the box lately changed to brown, and along with that so did the taste. I did a great deal of searching on the web, and confirmed what I found by comparing the ingredients: they are no longer organic ingredients, and are listed in a dissimilar order. The alter took place in the UK a couple years ago and it has now happened here in the USA. If the new taste doesn’t grow on me, I will have to find another cereal. I wonder if any person else who purchases on Amazon has noticed the change.

5Yum! I love Alpen!!
By Jennifer Allen
I grew up on Alpen and it is still my bestloved cereal after 30+ years of enjoying it! It is very difficult to find so I am very happy that Amazon is merchandising it. Alpen has a light sweet flavor to it and a terrifi consistency. The almonds and raisins are not overbearing (I ordinarily don’t like either in anything, but for a lot of reason they are outstanding in Alpen!). I highly commend this cereal. Add fresh fruit for added tastiness.

2This is NOT the same as the UK version of Alpen.
By Jeremy Lynnes
Let me get this out of the way: Amazon shipped this to me quick and did a great occupation so this review is not their fault.

I grew up in the UK and still have family that lives there that will send over Alpen Original whenever they can. I had no idea until last week that you could even buy Alpen in the US.

I read the reviews and everyone says “this is great – just like I remembered”. Perhaps these humans are applied to the Canadian/North American version of this but let me make sure you that this is NOT like the UK.

This version is more like rasin bran + muesli. It has bran flakes and a dissimilar consistency. It’s not bad per se but just not at all what I expected. The UK version is closer to oatmeal and muesli together. This version doesn’t soak up the milk rather the same but it does stay crunchier.

Perhaps it is always been this way but I won’t be ordering this version anymore and I wouldn’t commend it to any individual looking for the UK version.
