4Great but not for induction
By Target Shopaholic
I purchased these bars as a commodious and tasty way to manage my weight. For years, I have enjoyed these as a snack — great taste, great price, highly convenient. These taste like a chocolate bar so it satisfies my craving for sweets and hunger at the same time! I applied this largely as a meal replacement. In my opinion, it’s equivalent to the fullness of a little meal IF YOU DRINK WATER WITH IT — I don’t get hungry again until with regards to 2 hours later. It’s likewise highly commodious as a quick meal on the go.

However, not so long ago I’ve put myself on the rigorous induction phase, hoping to shed a few extra pounds for an upcoming party. For days, I went when it comes to cautiously counting my carbs but I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t losing more than the couple of pounds of water weight. Getting ketone strips confirmed that I wasn’t in ketosis. Finally, after conservatively reexamining everything I ate, I realized that these bars are questionable.

Here are nutrition facts from the label:
Calories 240
Total Fat 12g
Saturated Fat 6g
Protein 18g
Total Carbohydrate 22g
Dietary Fiber 10g
Sugar 1g
Sugar Alcohol 0g
(You may also affirm this on the Atkins internet site [...])

The way net carb ought to be calculate is
Total Carbohydrate – Dietary Fiber = Net Carb
So 22 – 10 = 12 net carbs

If you do a little interest research, you’ll find forums that talk in regards to this more in detail.

Eliminating these from my diet has at last put my body into ketosis. As I stated in the beginning, these are great tasting commodious bars to manage your weight but they’re not suitable for induction, in spite of what the Atkins internet site says.

5Excellent Source of Quick Energy & Protein!
By Steven
I just received my shipment of Atkin’s Advantage Bar, Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar. The shipment arrived within 2-days, excluding weekend, and in perfective condition. Excellent shipping and it was FREE!

Being a retired feed inspector the basi thing I looked at apart from the packaging was the “Expiration or Best If Used By” date. The Aktin’s use an “Enjoy By” date which is equivalent to “Best If Used By” date. The product I received has an “Enjoy By” date of Oct 22, 2011.

Considering the type of perishable product that this is I figure that my shipment rolled off the production line in the past month. Unlike a lot of Amazon.com reviewers of feed (perishable) merchandise that complained of staleness or out-of-date or soon to expire product I am very impressed by the freshness, the quality and the condition.

I have already commented on the sample product that I received and the product I received in this shipment is the precise same thing from the package to the last delicious bite.

Some Amazon.com reviewers gave this product only 1 star for product consistency and taste. All I may say is based on the FREE sample I received the product I received is incisively the same and as expected. I ordered knowing what to suppose and perchance those who did not have any former experience with the product were expecting something else entirely.

Let me give you a trained feed inspectors sentiment of the product without using all the technical jargon of my former profession.

Visually the product appears to be a chocolate covered candy bar. However, different from a great deal of candy bars the merchandise interior is reasonably dense in texture and reasonably chewy, similar to refrigerated uncooked cookie dough. To me the aspect make me think of it being a cross among a Snickers Bar (my fav) and a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (fav 2).

The flavor is again like my 2 favs, but less sweet in all likelihood due to there being only 1 gram of sugar. The flavor of the chocolate coating reminds me of a dark semi-sweet Dove chocolate. The interior has a smooth rich peanut butter flavor. I did not experience any off odors or off flavors and would say that it is for me a very delicious product. They kind of remind me of the very dense and calorie packed survival rations that we had when I was in the Army, but in this case the caloric load is equivalent to an intermediate candy bar.

I had a hard time limiting myself to just one and wouldn’t feel too guilty if I had eaten two of them since they are 240 calories each and two would have made it comparable in caloric load to a light meal. What actually attracted me to this product, apart from the magnificent taste, is that it provides 38% of the every day requirement of protein, as well as being very low in sugar and moderate on carbs.

I am a feed inspector by training and not a dietitian, but I think a person could survive eating 3 or 4 of these bars a day for a short amount of time of time, but you would only be getting 720-960 calories per day so you would be dropping weight reasonably quickly. Please do not think that I am in any way recommending you try to loose weight by eating just 3 or 4 of these bars a day and not one thing else. A dietitian might say that it would not be a very healthful and balanced diet.

Overall I like the product and would unquestionably commend it to others. Sign up for the FREE sample I noted and try it out before you buy a couple boxes and found out you don’t like it. That would be a little ridiculous in my opinion. I gave it 5 stars in my Amazon.com review because it was incisively as advertised, quick shipping, perfective upon arrival and everything I was expecting from the sample.

5The yummiest Atkins Bars
By Is4031
I just love these! The most unmanageable share for me is NOT eating them like candy. They are outstanding with a cup of tea for breakfast or late night snack. Much better than a Reese’s Cup! Too bad they are commonly more highpriced than the other flavors!
